Promote Local Foods at the Sarasota County Fair

Sarasota County Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd in Sarasota
Sarasota County Extension is looking for volunteers to assist with the Agriculture Display at this year's Sarasota County Fair. The display will highlight locally-grown foods and different growing methods, including field crops, containers, and hydroponics. Within the display, there will also be a table dedicated to Eat Local Week outreach.
Anyone interested in volunteering for a two-hour shift should contact Janie Besselman at jbesselm@scgov.net. Volunteers will be given free entry to the fair on the day of their shift.

Harvest Ball: Putting the "Culture" Back in Agriculture
Friday, March 29, 6-10pm
South Gate Community Center, 3145 Southgate Cir in Sarasota
We need at least two volunteers to staff the registration table for each of three 90-minute shifts throughout the evening: 5:45-7:15pm, 7:15-8:45pm, and 8:45-10:15pm. We will also need a few volunteers to help with set up earlier in the day.
